BSSCD Research Award 2026
The British Society of Special Care Dentistry is delighted to offer a research prize to support a project related to Special Care Dentistry. The BSSCD Research Award seeks to support early career researchers in Special Care Dentistry or related disciplines to undertake high-quality research that benefits patients cared for in Special Care Dentistry services.
There will be a maximum of one award in this call for applications of up to £7,000. Applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application within three months of the closing deadline for applications. Unsuccessful applicants can resubmit an application but not within the same call for applications. The award is being offered in 2026 but we cannot guarantee a similar award will be available in future years.
An application form and guidance for applicants is available on the BSSCD Awards and Prizes webpage. The grant cannot be used to support postgraduate qualifications and should be spent directly on research-related activity. Applicants are required to arrange or have established formal academic supervision from a university-associated staff member who can support the project.
